This afternoon, I thought I would visit Paige's plot in the cemetery. I hadn't been there since the funeral. You can imagine the emotions you would expect to experience visiting the grave site, but wait...
It is March, the snow is melting and the ground is soft. I drove down the little lane to where Paige is waiting for us and when I tried to back out, the van wouldn't make it all the way out. I drove back down and tried to get a better run at it, but every time I changed directions, I lost ground. Finally I am bogged down and spinning mud all over the van and the cemetery.
I felt really stupid, stuck in a cemetery with no way out. I called Morgan, he was on his way home and detoured enough to come by with the Avalanche and a tow strap. We both get out to survey the mess and realized we both have our left arms in slings.
Somehow we got the tow strap hooked to the van and Cathy pulled me back to solid ground. I left without the emotional drain I expected when I drove into the cemetery. I had to laugh about it and call James to let him know about my experience. Paige is still there, patiently waiting for us...
Paige, I still miss you more than ever and I love you the same...Dad
That is sooo funny:) did any profanities happen to slip out???
