There have been so many wonderful memories of Paige's birthdays shared today that I would be remiss if I didn't share some of my memories as well. One of the things I loved about Paige's birthday was that she was not afraid to let people know that it was her birthday. She used to say that there is no reason not to plan your own party because then you get exactly what you want, and you are never disappointed. To that end, for most of Paige's birthday gifts I gave her money so that she could go shopping and find the exact right thing. Paige loved to go shopping and she had impeccable taste. But it was never really the gifts that mattered to Paige. What mattered most to Paige was that on her birthday, and most every other day, she felt loved, and the gifts and cards were just a way to represent that love. Paige loved to be with me and Esme, to be with her family, and to be with her friends. That was always the best birthday present she could ever have. And we all loved to be with her. As has been said time and time again on this blog, you could not be around Paige without feeling better about yourself. She had no guile, she always wanted the best for you. She never wanted to you to be sad or fail. She felt better when you felt better and that is a remarkable gift. Paige's life touched so many in such a short amount of time. We all love her and miss her and honor her today. I true love you Pagina!
