Paige Cahoon Science Award

At the end of the school year, Paige's former school gives out a science award to the two most exemplary science students.  In honor of Paige they have decided to name it after her from now on. Paige loved to teach.  She was great at it.  In fact she won the teacher of the year award in 2007-2008.  I always said that by winning the award it made her the best teacher in the state.  Her school was the largest Jr. High and she won the award at the biggest school therefor she was the best teacher in the state!  Here is the short talk that was given in front of the entire school.

Paige Cahoon Science Award
This year we are honoring the person who exemplifies the best scientist after Mrs. Paige Cahoon. Mrs. Cahoon taught science here at Inglewood for six years and dedicated herself to showing all her students the wonders of science. She made science fun! Whatever Mrs. Cahoon did, she gave 100%, with a smile and a kind word. She was loved by all
.
Mrs. Cahoon inspired her students to show curiosity, take initiative, ask questions about the world around them, and to do their best with everything they tried. The students who exemplify these qualities are winning the Paige Cahoon Science Award this year.
The first student doesn’t hesitate to accept a challenge, has consistently demonstrated her science abilities in her outstanding science work and labs. She has the ability to gain the respect of her peers without always having to go with the flow. When she is not at school you could probably find her showing her horse.

The next student has maintained a high grade throughout science but what sets him apart is the fact that he is self motivated. He doesn’t just do what is expected to get the grade but goes above and beyond. Being a stellar science student, he sets high goals for himself and works till he reaches them. This student even took it upon himself to save the rocket launch project by rebuilding the launcher so that students could enjoy building and launching rockets this year. It is my pleasure to present the Paige Cahoon Science Award to Samantha Christy and Andrew Wisegarver.

This is the award that Paige was given
